Terms of Use
This is not the client agreement. These terms cover using this website and its free tools. If you hire me, a separate Website Services Agreement governs that work, and it says so on page one.
Using this site
By using dotgridos.com or any tool on it, you agree to what's below. If you don't, don't use it — there's no account to cancel and nothing to uninstall.
The free tools are informational
Every tool here produces an estimate or an observation. None of it is professional, financial, legal, or accounting advice, and none of it is a guarantee.
The calculators do arithmetic on numbers you supply, using published industry averages that are stated on the page along with their source. They tell you what those assumptions imply about your business. They do not know your business. Your actual results will differ, possibly by a lot.
The diagnostic checks report what publicly available information showed at the moment you ran them. Websites, DNS records, directory listings, and AI answers all change. A finding can be out of date within hours, and the absence of a finding does not mean nothing is wrong.
Do not make a business decision based solely on anything this site tells you. If a result matters to you, verify it — or ask me and I'll walk you through it.
Checks you run on a domain or website
When you enter a domain or URL, you represent that you own that business or are authorized to request a check on its behalf.
The tools examine only publicly available information — pages a browser can reach, DNS records, and public business listings. They do not attempt to access anything protected, private, or requiring credentials.
How the contact-form check works: the Website Health Check reads how your contact form is wired — whether its submit action points to a real destination — by inspecting the page. It does not fill in or submit the form, and it never sends a message through it. Nothing arrives in your inbox from running the check.
Fair use of the tools
The tools are free, and they stay free by not being abused. Please don't:
- Run automated, scripted, or bulk queries against them
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits
- Use them to gather information about businesses you have no relationship with, at scale
- Resell, rebrand, or embed the results as your own product
- Interfere with the site's operation, or attempt to access parts of it that aren't public
I may rate-limit, block, or discontinue any tool at any time, including for reasons as ordinary as cost.
No guarantee of availability
These tools are offered as they are, without warranty of any kind. They may be unavailable, wrong, incomplete, or discontinued. I don't promise that any particular tool will exist tomorrow.
To the extent the law allows, Dot Grid OS, LLC disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, Dot Grid OS, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or lost business, arising from your use of this site or its tools.
Because everything here is free, total liability for any claim relating to this site is limited to $100.
If you become a client, the Website Services Agreement governs that relationship instead, and its terms control.
What belongs to whom
The design, copy, code, and tools on this site belong to Dot Grid OS, LLC. The results a tool produces about your business belong to you — use them however you like, including to hire someone else.
Third-party links and services
Some tools query third-party services and some pages link elsewhere. I don't control those services and I'm not responsible for what they do or say.
Privacy
What I collect and what happens to it is described in the Privacy Policy. Short version: I don't sell anything, and if you want your information deleted, email me.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri. Any dispute belongs in St. Charles County, Missouri.
Changes
I'll update the date at the top when these change. Continuing to use the site means the current version applies.
